INRIX media operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We collate information and broadcast reports from six regional offices across the UK. Our people include regional studio broadcasters, regional information editors, technical support, administration and management.

Our studio broadcasters and information editors work a variety of shifts ranging from flexible hours to full time contracts so our employment opportunities can suit a wide range of personal circumstances.

Information Editors

Our information editors are busy people. They deal with jamline callers, contact many sources from the local CCTV unit to the relevant agency who maintains the road network, and they are responsible for keying this data into our custom built database.

Information editors manage hundreds of incidents on our traffic news database every day. Their information can be seen on websites, mobile phones, television and of course heard on the radio.

To be a successful Editor, the ability to handle a busy workload is a must as you will be dealing with a huge variety of resources and constantly managing incidents on our database. Some of our information editors become Senior Editors who oversee the regional editorial team and help to ensure that our data quality remains excellent through the monitoring and coaching of the Editors.

Our broadcasters are responsible for providing over 15,000 live and pre- recorded broadcasts across the country each week. Using the information that the Information Editors have inputted into our database, they provide regular travel bulletins to BBC and commercial radio stations. The ability to present articulately and confidently is must.

Broadcasters also support the Editors with making check calls and answering jamlines so organisation skills are also important.

There are promotional opportunities for Broadcasters to become Senior Broadcasters who oversee the rest of the broadcasters in their team.

Our Information Editors and Broadcasters work shifts starting from 5am and finishing at 10pm seven days a week apart from our Midlands office which is open 24 hours a day incorporating an overnight service.

As we invest a lot of time in developing our people, we try to fill our management vacancies internally, however where this is not possible we will fill these roles externally.

The first step towards management in the studios is the Senior Broadcast Editors who are responsible for the day to day running of an office. They are required to update the staff rotas, manages cover staff and absences, as well as learning more about the business and working with information sources and clients.

Each office also has a Manager who is responsible for overall operations within their office in addition to spending time visiting contacts and clients to develop and maintain effective relationships. This role requires a balance between people management and client relations.

We also have non studio management positions within INRIX media including Technical Managers who look after the infrastructure, Data Quality Manager who ensures that we are meeting our clients expectations and a Training Manager who ensures that our people are kept up to date with recent developments.
